After 64 days of highly escalated battles among the 10 teams in a total of 73 games, we have our two finalists: Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Though all the teams in IPL 2024 were beasts on their day, if you talk about the two most brutal batting lineups, you have to go with these two teams. KKR and SRH were the top two teams in the IPL Points table at the end of League stage and these two have made it to the finals.
IPL 2024 has been more for batters for most of the part but it has been a different story in the playoffs where bowlers have something for them in the game. However, the final is going to be an interesting one as the two teams with the best batting lineup are going to clash.
As mentioned earlier, IPL 2024 has been more joyful for the batters and the top rankers among the players have hit most fours and most sixes. Sunrisers have an edge over others as Abhishek Sharma of SRH and Travis Head from SRH are at the top of both lists.
Abhishek Sharma has hit as many as 42 sixes in 15 matches so far. He has 482 runs under his belt with a strike rate of 207.75. He has collected 396 runs out of 482 through boundaries which reflects his strike rate. His teammate Heinrich Klaasen is ranked second on the list with 38 sixes in 15 matches.
We have seen a different version of Virat Kohli in this IPL season where he has played with a strike rate of over 154 consistently. He has thumped down 38 sixes in a total of 15 matches and is the highest run-scorer of the TATA IPL 2024.
Nicholas Pooran also has his name in the list as expected and he has 36 sixes to his name in 14 games. Scoring 499 runs with a strike rate of 178 was exceptional but he was alone from his side to stand out. This version of Rajat Patidar was unseen by Indian Cricket fans as he smacked 33 sixes in a season and made his place in the top 5 six hitters of the season.
One opener leads the most sixes board, while the other leads the most fours list, and both are from Hyderabad-based Franchise. Travis Head is leading the most fours list with 64 boundaries. He is currently the third-highest run-getter in the IPL and has scored 448 runs from just boundaries and sixes. Following him is Virat Kohli (RCB) with 62 fours.
Ruturaj Gaikwad had an off start to the season but got his numbers towards the end of the IPL 2024. He has posted 58 fours and is the third-highest boundary hitter in the season.
