The trade window for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is open. The preparations for the next edition of the league is in full flow. Franchises have time till 26th November to submit their final list of released and retained players. After that auction is set to take place in Dubai next month.
IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians to trade Rohit Sharma to Gujarat Titans and bring Hardik Pandya back – Reports
With all the hype around trade, a report in News 18 has revealed the shocking development. It is learned that Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans are in talks to swap to Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya for the upcoming IPL 2024.
This means that Rohit Sharma will play for Gujarat Titans and might also be captain whereas Hardik Pandya will back to his home team Mumbai Indians. The reports have also suggested that Mumbai Indians might let go Jofra Archer instead of Rohit Sharma if it works and ask Hardik to take the spot of the fast bowler.
Rohit Sharma has been one of the main reason behind Mumbai Indians’ success in the IPL. Therefore to trade him will be very difficult for the franchise. The reports added that five-time champions might ask Hardik Pandya to player as a player for one year and then take leadership from Rohit after that.

Mumbai Indians have been the main reason why Hardik Pandya is highly rated in modern-day cricket. He debuted for them in 2015 at a base price of Rs 10 lakh. After that, he was nourished well and became a big name in Indian cricket. He won titles in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 with them before joining Gujarat Titans in 2022.
Rohit Sharma on the other hand changed the dynamics of the Mumbai Indians ever since he took over the leadership. He won five IPL titles as a leader and is also the leading run-getter for the team with around 6000 runs to his name.

Barring this, Gautam Gambhir also parted ways with LSG. He will now b joining Kolkata Knight Riders as the mentor of the team. He was integral part of KKR for more than 5 years and as a captain won two trophies.
