IPL 2024, RCB vs KKR: Kolkata Knight Riders won their second consecutive match of TATA IPL 2024 after defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium by seven wickets in the match no.10 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. KKR played dominating cricket against RCB in Bengaluru and the Player of the match was Sunil Narine, who played a phenomenal inning of 47 runs in 22 balls and also took one wicket.
It was an excellent game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru but RCB need to play better cricket with the ball to win the upcoming matches in the TATA IPL 2024. Virat Kohli played a superb knock of 83 runs in 59 balls at a strike rate of 140.68 however, If Kohli had support from the other end then RCB definitely scored 200+ runs in this match.
Kolkata Knight Riders played poor cricket in the starting of the match but they slowly got into the match and then dominated RCB in the second inning with fantastic batting. Sunil Narine played a stormy inning of 47 runs and led KKR to a strong position in the match. However, Harshit Rana and Andre Russell took two wickets each for KKR while bowling first.
IPL 2024 RCB vs KKR Match Highlights:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batted first and they had a decent start as RCB was able to score 61 runs in the first powerplay with the loss of one wicket. Virat Kohli and Cameron Green made a good partnership of 65 runs for the second wicket. Both the players were looking in good touch but Cameron Green got out by scoring just 33 runs in 21 balls.
However, Virat Kohli was batting well and continuously rotating the strike and trying to make partnerships with the other batters but they lost their wickets. Virat Kohli stood till last and led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a good total of 182 runs in 20 overs.
Virat played an impressive inning of 83 runs in 59 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes whereas Dinesh Kartik played an impact inning of 20 runs in 8 balls in the death overs. From Kolkata Knight Riders bowling Department, Harshit Rana and Andre Russell took two wickets each whereas Sunil Narine got one wicket in this match.
Kolkata Knight Riders easily chased the target of 183 runs in just 16.5 overs. In the second inning, KKR started an aggressive start as they scored 85 runs in the first six overs of the second inning with no loss. Sunil Narine and Phil Salt were continuously hitting boundaries and built pressure over the RCB bowlers since the start of the inning.
Sunil Narine scored 47 runs in 22 balls whereas Phil Salt scored 30 runs in 20 balls but later on, Skipper Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer made a crucial partnership of 75 runs for the third wicket. Venkatesh Iyer scored 50 runs in 30 balls and this was his first half-century of Iyer in the TATA IPL 2024.
Shreyas Iyer stood till last and led KKR to the second victory of the season, he scored 39 runs in 24 balls. From the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowling department, Yash Dayal, Mayank Dagar and Vyshak Vijay Kumar took one wicket each in this match.
