Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is all set to kick start in the month of March. The schedule of the tournament is yet to be announced but the recent reports in News 18 have revealed that fixtures will be announced in phases.
The IPL 2024 is all set to clash with elections in India, which is why there are a lot of speculations around the possibility of a league taking place in India. During the 2009 and 2014 editions, the league took place outside India and few reports claimed something might happen this time too.
However, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal recently confirmed that they will be making every possible effort to stage IPL 2024 in India. He stated that they would be working on dates with the Indian government before announcing the schedule.
The latest reports in News 28 have claimed that fixtures for the IPL 2024 will be announced in phases just like it happened during 2019. A source in BCCI said that they are in discussion with Home Ministry and Election Commission related to the dates.
The reports claimed that after the first phase, BCCI will get more clarity on the polling schedule and then will release the schedule for the remainder of the IPL 2024. He explained:

“The schedule will be announced in phases. Like it happened in 2019. For the first few games of each team, we will release the schedule soon and then we get more clarity on the polling schedule and other important dates, we will announce the remainder.”
IPL 2024 most likely to start from 22nd March
The IPL 2024 is likely to start from 22nd March. The reports claimed that the league will take place in India. The tournament will begin just after the ongoing Test series against England and therefore the players who are part for series will be having less time to prepare.
IPL 2024 will be the 17th edition of the league and as all the seasons it is expected to be another crackling season. Chennai Super Kings is the defending champions and would want to claim another title.
