IPL 2025: No clarity over Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Avesh Khan as Lucknow Super Giants face big blow
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have found themselves in a spot of bother ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the pace trio of Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan are yet to get the fitness clearance.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is around the corner, with the league all set to begin from 22nd March. The franchisees have begun their preparations in full flow as, along with domestic players, international starts too have joined the teams and will be beginning their training soon.
Coming to Lucknow, Super Giants have great firepower in the squad with the likes of Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, David Miller and others. But things aren't looking great for them in the bowling department, especially with three Frontline pacers still out due to injuries.
The reports in Cricbuzz stated that Lucknow Super Giants are awaiting the fitness of Mayank, Mohsin, and Avesh. There so far seems to be no clarity over them, and if they get ruled out of the IPL 2025, then it will dent the franchise's chances to win the tournament.
Mayank Yadav suffered back stress after the T20I series against Bangladesh and has been out of action since October 2024. Avesh Khan has been dealing with knee cartilage and has been at the NCA after Madhya Pradesh's Ranji Trophy campaign ended against Kerala in January.
Two out of the three pacers are expected to get the fitness clearance ahead of the IPL 2025
On the other hand, there is no clarity over Mohsin Khan's injury. The fast bowler was last seen in action during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 game between UP and Chandigarh on 31st December. In that game, he bowled just 5.5 overs, and since then, there hasn't been any clarity over his fitness.
The reports claimed that two out of the three pacers are expected to get the fitness clearance ahead of the IPL 2025. They are likely to be available from the start of the tournament although the official confirmation is yet to come. Lucknow Super Giants will open their campaign against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam on March 24.
