IPL 2025: After Ricky Ponting’s removal from the post of IPL coach, now another Australian coach Trevor Bayliss can be removed from the IPL coaching responsibility. Bayliss is the head coach of Punjab Kings but currently his two-year contract has ended, while PBKS Franchisee does not seem to be in the mood to retain him again.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Punjab Kings are looking for an Indian coach for IPL 2025. Now whether they will appoint an Indian coach or retain Trevor Bayliss again is a matter of discussion for the franchise. A meeting was scheduled for July 22 between the franchises to appoint the coach but the meeting was cancelled before it could take place.

Punjab Kings are still looking for their first trophy, under the coaching of Australian Trevor Bayliss, the team failed to perform well in IPL-2024 as well. The team won only five out of a total of 14 matches while they had to face defeat in nine matches.
According to reports, the franchise can appoint Sanjay Bangar as the head coach of the team. Bangar was the head coach of Punjab in IPL 2014-16, and currently he is the director of cricket development. Well, the franchise has not yet reached any decision on who will be their head coach, it is being speculated that the franchise can decide after the IPL-2025 mega auction.
After the successful tenure of the Indian coach, all the franchises are busy searching for an Indian coach for their team. The Indian team winning the World Cup under the coaching of Rahul Dravid, and the Kolkata Knight Riders becoming champions in IPL-2024 under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir are examples of the success of Indian coaching.
Royal Challengers Bangalore has also appointed its former player Dinesh Karthik as the head coach of RCB after his IPL retirement.
