Lucknow Super Giants likely will be announcing Rishabh Pant as the captain

It is likely that Lucknow Super Giants will be announcing Rishabh Pant as the captain because of the price tag that they brought him for. The keeper-batter became the costliest buy in the history of the league after he was acquired by the franchise for INR 27 crore.

Rishabh Pant also has a great amount of leadership experience. He was captain of Delhi Capitals in the league and did a great job for the team. The keeper-batter, if given the opportunity, would want to make sure that he helps his team and takes them to the title win in the very first season.

On the other hand, Nicholas Pooran was the top retention for the team ahead of the auction. The keeper-batter was the vice-captain of the team last and even captained the team in the absence of KL Rahul. He also has been leading various franchises and would be keen to get the role.

Lucknow Super Giants also can turn towards Aiden Markram, who is captain of South Africa and Mitchell Marsh, who is T20I captain. The franchise would want to go a few steps ahead and win the title. They qualified for playoffs for the first two seasons, and the last year finished in the lower half of the table.
