Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Shardul Thakur has been in the news for the last few days. The fast bowler has made a remarkable comeback after he went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, which took place in December last year. 

Shardul Thakur, who is one of the finest all-rounders in Indian cricketer, then finally got an IPL deal with Lucknow Super Giants. The pacer trained with the team for a while after he was called up following the franchise was mulling over the fitness of a few key pacers. 

Shardul Thakur, since then, has looked class apart with the ball. The fast bowler has been the best pacer for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025. In the two games that he has played so far, he has looked a class apart and has helped his team big time in the bowling department in both games. 

Shardul Thakur took two wickets in the opening encounter against Delhi Capitals. And then brought his best with the ball in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He picked his best IPL figures as he picked four-fer and helped his team win their first game of the league. 

Shardul Thakur, so far, has picked 6 wickets in the two games that he has played. The pacer is the second leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2025 so far and with the way he is playing, it's fair to say that he will play a major role for the Lucknow Super Giants in the league going ahead.

However, in a shocking revelation, it is learned that Shardul Thakur also received a lucrative offer from one of the big franchises in the IPL after Lucknow Super Giants called him up. As per the reports in Indian Express, it is learned that he was offered a higher contract than LSG. 

But Shardul Thakur talked to his friends about that and reportedly told them that it would be ‘unethical’ to leave LSG as they approached him first. He told his friend, “Money is important but not at the cost of ethics.” And hence, he stayed will Lucknow Super Giants.
