A shadow of doubt had settled over the prospects of the current tournament since the match on Thursday between Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamsala was called off halfway through due to air raid alerts in nearby areas of Pathankot and Jammu.

"It appears inappropriate for cricket to continue amidst the ongoing conflict in the country," a BCCI official stated to PTI, confirming the league's suspension, which was scheduled to conclude on May 25 in Kolkata.

The suspension occurred shortly after the Punjab Kings versus Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala was canceled due to concerns over safety.

The location, situated under 100 kilometers from the city of Pathankot, which experienced air raid warnings, has become the center of escalating tensions, prompting the BCCI to hold urgent discussions regarding the future of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has arranged a special charter train to evacuate the players of both DC and PBKS along with their support staff members, broadcast crew, commentators and match officials to a safe place.
