IPL franchise asks BCCI to reschedule Tata IPL 2023 Auction due to Christmas: Most of the Indian Premier League franchise officials have asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to postpone the IPL 2023 Auction as the bidding event is scheduled close to the Christmas festival which is of enormous importance to the overseas officials of the league.
The IPL 2023 Auction is scheduled to be held on 23rd December in Kochi. If the auction goes as per the already laid plans, most of the franchises fear losing their overseas officials due to Christmas Festival.
The Indian cricket board is yet to answer the query and it will be interesting to see if the BCCI reschedules the event or moves forward as per the plans.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction will be a one-day event, unlike the IPL 2022 mega-auction which was conducted in two days in February, earlier this year.
The player retentions have been completed and all the teams have retained their core set of players prior to the auction. A couple of trades have also been executed between a few teams. As per the stats, as many as 163 players were retained by all the ten teams while 85 players were set free ahead of the IPL 2023 Auction.

The upcoming auction will see some of the best all-rounders of the format go under the hammer. The likes of Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, and Cameron Green are all free agents and will be at the epicentre of the auction. The aforementioned players are likely to shatter multiple records in the auction due to their stellar form of late.
