IPL 2024:The 45th game of the 2024 Tata Indian Premier League took place between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Ahemdabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. It was a must win game for the Bengaluru based team if they wanted to keep their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive and they did just that as they defeated Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans by nine wickets with 24 balls to spare.
In the afternoon, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and invited the home team to bat first. Batting first, GT scored 200 runs at the loss of just three wickets in 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan scored the most runs for the team, he scored 84 runs in 49 balls with the help of eight fours and four sixes.
Shahrukh Khan, who came up in batting career, also played a brilliant innings today, he scored 58 runs in just 30 balls with the help of three fours and five sixes. In the final, David Miller also scored 26 runs in 19 balls to take GT to the target of 200 runs.
The target of 200 runs was chased by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in just 16 overs. RCB lost only one wicket in the form of Faf du Plessis. Virat Kohli scored 70 runs in 44 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes. The bowlers of Gujarat Titans did not fare well against the stormy innings of Will Jacks. He played not out inning of 200 runs in 41 balls with the help of ten sixes.

Talking about the points table, 2008 IPL winners Rajasthan Royals are currently sitting comfortably at the top of the table with 16 points in nine games and a positive net run rate of +0.694
The second position is occupied by the Kolkata Knight Riders who have 10 points in eight games with a net run rate of +0.972 followed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad with the same number of points as well but their net run rate of +0.577 is lower than KKR. If SRH win the game against Chennai, they will move up to the second position
The fourth and fifth ranks in the table are occupied by Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals with 10 points each but LSG’s net run rate of +0.059 is way better than Delhi’s -0.276. CSK are sitting at the sixth rank with eight points next to their name having won four games and lost four games as well but if they defeat SRH tonight they will enter the top four on the basis of their better net run rate.
Despite their dominant win against GT, RCB are still sitting at the bottom of the overall standings The seventh, eighth, ninth and the tenth positions are occupied by Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
