IPL teams that can target Sam Curran in IPL 2023 Auction.
Whilst everyone is busy with Cameron Green and his mind-boggling strokeplay, England’s young all-rounder Sam Curran has quietly sneaked in into the list of top potential players who could attract a mouthwatering deal in the IPL 2023 auction. This article will lead you through IPL teams that can target Sam Curran in IPL 2023 Auction.
The 24-year-old left-arm pacer was awarded Player of the tournament in the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. In fact, he is the youngest cricketer to receive the accolade.
Curran eked out 13 wickets in the tournament for England at an impressive economy of 6.56. His all-around show in the T20 World Cup 2022 helped his side clinch their second T20I World Champions title.
The left-arm seamer was fantastic in his execution throughout the tournament. He swung the ball early in the innings, controlled the match during the middle phase with angles and even was brilliant in the death overs. In fact, 9 of his 12 T20 World Cup 2022 wickets came in death overs.
Certainly, the English all-rounder is foreseen to bag a handsome sum of money in the upcoming auction. There will be a couple of sides that will be ready to shell out a massive sum in order to get the services of Sam Curran.

IPL teams that can target Sam Curran in IPL 2023 Auction:
Chennai Super Kings (CSK):
CSK would be tempted to go after Sam Curran during the auction. The all-rounder was part of the CSK squad in the last season of the IPL but missed the tournament as he wanted to complete his rehabilitation. However, this time he is ready to rock and roll in the Indian T20 league.
With INR 20.45 Crore of purse value available, Chennai would probably aim to retain Sam Curran in the auction. Moreover, the yellow brigade has a long history of retaining most of its players.
CSK has released the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Chris Jordan and Adam Milne so they will require the services of a premium fast-bowling all-rounder to fill the gaps. If they manage to bag Curran from the auction, it will be their massive victory ahead of the tournament.
Mumbai Indians (MI):
Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians still have to figure out a couple of things as they enter the next IPL season. Their long-standing all-around option Kieron Pollard has just retired from the IPL and will assume the batting coach’s charge for the team. It certainly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea to fit in Pollard’s shoes.
Sam Curran could be the ideal problem solver for MI. The pacer can bowl anywhere throughout the innings. Moreover, he has a good knack for scoring quick runs at the backend.
Mumbai’s pace attack can shape into a whole different unit if they somehow manage to bring in Sam Curran from the auction table. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Jofra Archer (subject to fitness) and Sam Curran can be a nightmare for the opposition.
