Indian batter and wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan was rushed to the hospital in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh after sustaining a blow to the head in the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka. Ishan was hit on the head off the bowling of Lahiru Kumara and went down immediately. But he carried on playing for some time before getting out to Kumara after giving a simple catch to Dasun Shanaka. Dinesh Chandimal also has been admitted to the hospital after sustaining a finger injury in the match.
Ishan Kishan Admitted to the Hospital:
The ball hit Ishan Kishan straight on the helmet. He did not collapse down but the play had to stop to follow the concussion protocol. The incident happened in the second innings of the game, the Indian batting innings. The ball was quickly bowled at 146 kmph. He has been admitted as a precautionary measure and a CT scan is being conducted.
“I have been attached to the Indian team and I got information that an Indian player, who has sustained a head injury, has been brought here in the hospital. His CT scan was conducted and he has been under observation,” said Dr. Shubham who has been handling the case. “A Sri Lankan player has also been admitted to the hospital, after receiving a thumb injury in the second T20I. We are monitoring everything right now,” Dr. Shubham added referring to the case of Dinesh Chandimal.
India Beat Sri Lanka to Seal T20I series:
Coming to the game, India won the game after the heroics of Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, and Ravindra Jadeja with the bat. Shreyas smoked 74 runs off 44 balls and remained not out. The final acceleration was provided by Ravindra Jadeja. He scored a lightning-fast 45 runs off 18 balls. India won the game with 2.5 overs to spare and with 7 wickets in hand.
With this India has extended their unbeaten run to 11 games. This unbeaten run began after the loss at the hands of New Zealand in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. During the series, Yuzi Chahal has become India’s most successful T20 bowler. Rohit Sharma also has become the player with the most T20I runs on the planet surpassing Martin Guptill.
