India wicketkeeper and star batter from Jharkhand, Ishan Kishan has emerged in fine form in the longest format of the game. Kishan has starred for India previously across all formats, though not very recently. The batter plays a crucial role in the Mumbai Indians camp, as the opener batter was the costliest among Indian players in the 2022 mega-auction.
Kishan returned to red-ball cricket after a long gap with the Buchi Babu tournament, where he starred in the first game as skipper for the state side. It was regarding the strict ultimatum issued by the BCCi over Indian players to star in domestic games in order to make a comeback to the Indian test side.
Hence, what seemed stunning was Ishan Kishan’s comeback hundred in the Buchi Babu, where he scored a quickfire century and in the innings broke several records as he smashed an iconic nine sixes in his 86-ball hundred. However, later he had to withdraw from the competition due to his participation in the Duleep Trophy, as he was picked for Gaikwad-led India C.
However, misfortune struck again, as Ishan Kishan missed the opening round of the Duleep Trophy due to a niggle early on, which ruled him out of the first leg. Alongside Suryakumar Yadav, he was also ruled out, and hence they have to wait further for their return to the Indian team as a red ball player.
