Jasprit Bumrah on the verge of shattering the massive record of Wasim Akram in overseas conditions

Indian Cricket Team pacer Jasprit Bumrah is on the verge of breaking a massive record of Wasim Akram in test cricket. The fast bowler is two wickets away from becoming the Asian bowler with the most number of wickets in the SENA countries. SENA defines South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah, who has 145 wickets from 31 tests, needs just one wicket to equal Wasim Akram. The former Pakistan cricketer picked 146 wickets in 32 tests. The fast bowler will have a great opportunity to achieve the record in the upcoming five-match test series against the England Cricket Team.

The India Cricket Team will be locking horns with the England Cricket Team in a five-match test series. The series will begin on 20th June at Headingley in Leeds and will conclude on 4th August at Kennington Oval. The series will also mark the new edition of the ICC World Test Championship cycle (2025-27).

Jasprit Bumrah will be holding the key for the Indian Cricket Team in the series against England

Jasprit Bumrah will be holding the key for the Indian Cricket Team in the series. The fast bowler played a massive role for India in the last series in Australia. He bagged 32 wickets and won the Player of the Series the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, which included five tests.

Jasprit Bumrah, however, won't be available for all five games in the series. The fast bowler will be playing just three games due to workload management, and the management would be hoping that he makes a massive impact in those games.

Jasprit Bumrah, during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, faced a back injury. The fast bowler was then out of the action for around four months and made a return in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He looked in good touch with the ball there, too, and helped his team reach the playoffs.

The Test series against England will mark a new era for the Indian test team. Since Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired, it will be a young team. Shubman Gill will be leading the team with Rishabh Pant being his deputy.
