Jay Shah trying to bring Sachin Tendulkar on board in team India’s coaching staff: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah is reportedly attempting to convince Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to take up a coaching role in team India’s national side. Mr Shah has approached Tendulkar and is trying to convince him to take a role in the near future.
Sachin Tendulkar is a massive name in itself, not only in the world of cricket but also beyond it. The cricketer debuted at just 16-years of age and dominated the bowlers with his powerful shots and compiled more than 34,000 international runs. The 48-years old cricketer still holds several hefty records that aren’t going to be broken anytime soon.
It is noteworthy that Sachin Tendulkar is associated with Mumbai Indians (MI) as the team mentor since he took his all format retirement. He played for Mumbai Indians during his playing days and after that he is involved in mentoring the kids and other players.
Interestingly, Jay Shah, according to the report of TOI, wants to bring Sachin into the Indian setup once again, but in a different capacity. The BCCI secretary is making an honest try to persuade the “GOD” of cricket to take a role in the Indian cricket team.

It is noteworthy that Jay Shah has been successful in convincing people to take up coaching roles. Two of his major achievements are the appointment of Rahul Dravid as team India’s head coach, for which Dravid was earlier hesitant, and the second is giving the National Cricket Academy (NCA) duties to VVS Laxman.
For the unversed, Dravid was disinclined to take up the head coach’s role in team India as it will require a lot of travelling. Rahul Dravid wanted to continue as the head of NCA, however, Jay Shah’s magical conversations with Dravid eventually convinced the former cricketer to come on board as the head coach.
“He’s (Shah) been off the media radar but absolutely clear about what is the right thing to do. Little things that matter. For instance, appointing Rahul Dravid as head coach, ensuring someone of the stature of VVS Laxman gets associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA). We’re told he’s now trying to convince Sachin Tendulkar to get into some role in the near future,” said BCCI members in the know.
It remains to be seen if Mr Jay Shah gets successful in convincing Sachin Tendulkar for a high profile role in the Indian team. If he does that convincingly, Tendulkar will have to quit his mentoring job with Mumbai Indians (MI) to avoid the ever-standing and debatable topic of Conflict of Interest.
