KKR vs SRH: Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra pointed out the biggest problem for Kolkata Knight Riders going into Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He believes the absence of Phil Salt will leave a massive void in the team and it might cost them.
KKR vs SRH Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be taking place on Tuesday (21st May). The match will take place at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad and it’ll see the two best teams of the tournament taking on each other.
Kolkata Knight Riders have been an absolute class apart in the IPL 2024 as they won 9 games in the league stage and were extremely dominant. They were the first team to make it into the playoffs and would be very high on confidence going into KKR vs SRH.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad has been magnificent as well. They have revolutionised the batting this season and have been a batting powerhouse. They got s tad lucky in the end as a washout in the game between RR and KKR sealed their place in the qualifier.

With the KKR vs SRH game just a few hours away from now, Aakash Chopra pointed out the problems for Kolkata going into the game. He believes that Phil Salt was a massive part of their success and it might be difficult for them to emerge out of this. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“There could be one problem for sure. This season, Phil Salt made a massive contribution to this team’s success. The starts he used to give with Sunil Narine suddenly put the opposing team on the back foot and they used to find it very difficult to emerge from that many times. However, Phil Salt isn’t there now.”
Phil Salt was called back by the ECB along with other England players. They will be part of the team for the series against Pakistan.
KKR vs SRH: The second problem is that Shreyas Iyer – Aakash Chopra
Going into the KKR vs SRH game, Aakash Chopra also feels that the form of Shreyas Iyer will be also concerning for the KKR team. He said that the season hasn’t been great for the skipper. He added:
“The second problem is that Shreyas Iyer hasn’t scored that many runs this year. He has played a slightly anchor-type role whereas all players around him come like rocket launchers. He even said that he has an anchor’s role this time. So he is anchoring but the season hasn’t been the way you expect it to be.”
Shreyas Iyer has amassed 287 at an average of 31.89 in 12 innings.
