Kuldeep Yadav is hopeful to get a chance in India’s Sri Lanka tour in July.
Indian Chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who had a drastic downfall over the last year, is hopeful to get a chance in the Sri Lanka tour wherein the second-string India team will go in the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma.
The spinner is in and out of the Indian squad and is having a forgetful time as he was earlier dropped from India’s Test squad due to multiple failures and poor performances.
The left-arm spinner once performed sensationally and thrived under MS Dhoni during his early days and became India’s all-format player, however, his run under Virat Kohli has not been to his likings. The situations have now deteriorated to such an extent that he is now out of favour.
Yadav is disappointed for not making it to India’s ICC World Test Championship squad and the subsequent England-India five games test series.

“I am disappointed not to be part of the Indian team because I wanted to go and perform and contribute to the team’s win. These things happen, yes you are sad, but at the same time you are ready to perform in the next opportunity,” said Yadav.
With senior cricketers getting engaged in the ICC WTC Final, Kuldeep Yadav is positive to get a slot in the second string Indian squad that will tour Sri Lanka for limited overs series.
“I didn’t go there, so hopefully I will go to Sri Lanka and get the chance to perform there. Cricket should continue happening, every player is sad when he is not in the team, everyone wants to remain in the team but sometimes the situation is such that you are not part of the team,” added Kuldeep Yadav.
The 26-years old cricketer believes that with the cricket India has played in the last three-four years, the Virat Kohli led India is better placed against Kane Williamson led New Zealand.
“The sort of cricket we are playing for the last three-four years and the positive atmosphere in the team, even when we play away we treat it as a home series, the way the team played in Australia and then against England, I feel we should and we will win,” said Yadav.
