FC Barcelona outplayed Real Betis in the last La Liga game. The game was very eventful. Barca managed to get to the back of the net 4 times. The game began with a steady pace. The teams were moving the ball around. The first big break came in the 14th minute. Raphinha powered a shot on goal which was saved but it was Andreas Christensen who managed to get the ball back and score on the return. It was 1-0, Barca, at the very beginning. From then on the Catalans ruled the game. They showed exactly why they are table toppers in the La Liga table. They gave nothing away. Their passing was crisp and so was their ball recovery.
In the 33rd minute Edgar Gonzalez, the defender from Real Betis got his second yellow card and was sent off. Betis were down to 10 men. Taking advantage of this Barcelona scored in the 36th minute itself. It was Robert Lewandowski this time around. It was 2-0, Barca! Post this, in the 39th minute, Raphinha showed his magic. He chipped the keeper, and the Catalans sealed the game in the first half itself. The Barcelona lead was 3-0.
2nd Half Barcelona VS Real Betis, La Liga 2023:
The 2nd half saw some steady play by Real Betis. They were trying to play a counter-attacking game. They held the ball and tried to slow down the pace of the game. But Barcelona still managed to put one in the back of their net. In the 81st minute, one of Betis’s players got injured. It was Joaquin. He left the pitch and Betis had to play with 9 men. This was done as Real Betis had already done all of its 5 substitutions. Barcelona scored in the 82nd minute. This time it was an own goal by Rodriguez.
15-year-old, Lamine Yamal Makes Debut for Barcelona in La Liga:
Lamine Yamal was bought on by Barcelona in the second half. He is the second youngest player to play for Barcelona ever. And is the youngest player to play in La Liga. “I told him to try different things and express himself, Xavi (Barcelona Manager) said. Lamine is one of the top prospects in world football. He was bought up and groomed by La Masia. This is the academy of FC Barcelona and it is the very place that scouted the like of Lionel Messi.
