Latest ICC Test Ranking: Following the defeat on the first test, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been pushed to number 5 by his English counterpart Joe Root who climbs up to 3rd spot owing to his brilliant double century in the first inning. While Indian bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin climb one spot each.

Virat Kohli scored 11 and 72 in the two innings of the first test is at number 5 of the latest ICC Test Batsmen Ranking with 852 points while Joe Root scoring 218 and 40 moved up two spots to 3rd position with 883 rating points.

Indian bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah is at number 8 with 769 points while Ashwin is just above Bumrah with 771 rating points.

The ICC Test Batsmen ranking is led by New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson with career-best 919 rating points followed by Australian Steve Smith with 891 points and Joe Root at number 3.

Marnus Labuschagne also pushed one rung down by Joe Root after an impactful performance against India. Labuschagne with 878 rating points sits at number 4.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes also rose one place with his brilliant 82 runs in the first innings. Stokes with 746 points is at number 9.

Talking about the bowlers ranking, the cart is led by Australian Pat Cummins with 908 points followed by English pacer Stuart Broad and James Anderson with 830 and 826 rating points respectively. 

James Anderson in the fourth innings picked three crucial wickets to dismantle Indian innings in quick succession. In the first second inning Anderson picked two scalps.

The All rounder’s ranking is still lead by English all-rounder Ben Stokes with 428 rating points followed by Jason Holder and Ravindra Jadeja with 414 and 410 points respectively.
