05:10 PM- Well, 50 runs in a 50-over match. This is the summary of the Lankan innings. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. Bumrah was on the money from the first over picking up the dangerous Perera out. Siraj then handled it all on his own. Four wickets in an over for him where he just broke the spine of the Lankan batting order. Siraj claimed 6 wickets and the rest of the three were easily cleared by Hardik Pandya.

Interestingly the pitch wasn’t a green top. It was more like of batting surface but the beauty of these three overshadowed it all. Just four bowlers were used by India and that was enough for Sri Lanka.

This has now been noted down as the lowest total in the history of the Asia Cup Final, but we didn’t expect it in that way.

15.2- Pathirana came and gone straight away! Sri Lanka are bowled out for 50 runs in the Asia Cup 2023 final.

Siraj back into the attack

Pramod Madushan comes in.

12.3- Wicket Number 8! Hardik Pandya gets a wicket. Good-directed bouncer and Wellalage didn’t have much time to do anything. He gloved the ball and the keeper took an easy catch

11.4- Four. Hemantha Flicks and get full out of it.

New batter Hemantha walks out to the crease.

11.2- WICKET!! Siraj hits the middle stump. Kusal Mendis this time and Siraj continues his destruction work.

Kusal Mendis just watches every wicket from the other end. Wellalage Joins him

5 overs gone and Sri Lanka are already 5 wickets down.

India, who won the Asia Cup seven times in total (1984, 1988, 1991, 1995, 2010, 2016, and 2018), would be eager to win the championship for a record-breaking eighth time. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, would definitely be looking to defend their Cup and equal the numbers with India.
