Rishabh Pant is the costliest player in IPL history where from Delhi Capitals to Lucknow Supergiant .

Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka has named Rishabh Pant as the new captain. Pant became the costliest player in IPL auctions history after LSG splurged Rs 27 crore to acquire his services at the mega auctions last year. Pant was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the auction.

“I think Rishabh Pant is going to finish as one of the best IPL captains ever. In 10-12 years time, you would hear his name associated with MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma,Rishabh Pant knows a few players, doesn't know others. We have to create a platform where there's mutual trust. At the end of the day, you want to win. You won't win every game -- losing and winning are part and parcel. You learn to take defeat with victory," Goenka concluded.

Rishabh Pant captained Delhi Capitals (DC) starting in 2021 and led the team throughout the 2022 and 2024 seasons. Despite being in charge for 43 matches, Pant's record has been modest, with DC winning 23 of those and one match ended in a tie, giving him a win percentage of 54.65%.
