Releasing the official statement, Mumbai Indians said that Vignesh Puthur will continue staying with the team and will focus on his recovery and rehabilitation. The statement read:
"Vignesh will continue to be with the team to focus on his recovery and rehabilitation with the Mumbai Indians medical and S&C team."
Mumbai Indians have named Raghu Sharma as a replacement
In his place, Mumbai Indians have named Raghu Sharma as a replacement. The Punjab spinner has played 11 first-class matches and has taken 57 wickets at an average of 19.59, with best bowling figures of 7/56.
In List A cricket, Raghu Sharma has picked 14 wickets in 9 matches, with best figures of 4/37. He has also featured in 3 T20 matches, picking up 3 wickets. This will be the first time he will be playing in the league, and he will want to make a massive impact in the league.
Mumbai Indians will be next seen in action when they will take on Rajasthan Royals in their next game. The match will be played on Thursday (1st May) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
