Matthew Kuhnemann On Action Controversy | Played 100 Games And Never Got Questioned
Matthew Kuhnemann, one of the top players of the Australian cricket team, Matthew was one of the top left-arm spinners and top bowlers in the world, Matthew Kuhnemann recently came under controversy in one of the latest match, during the second Test against Sri Lanka that was held in Galle, the match officials reported Matthew kuhnemann bowling action. After that in one of the interviews, he said that he had full faith in coming out of it clean.
Matthew Kuhnemann had played over 100 professional games in his career and played very well, his bowling style is unique and never got any questions about my bowling action. Matthew also said that he had been more confident in my ability as a bowler than I am at this moment,”.
Following which Kuhnemann faced a bowling action assessment at the NCC in Brisbane on February 15, where his action was found to be legal. Recently, the Kuhnemann opened up on the entire controversy and by saying that the incident has made him more confident about his abilities.
Kuhnemann explains the process by saying that: "The process of ICC bowling analysis was very clear cut and simple, you can bowl as good as yo can. You go in there and bowl 20-30 balls in the presence of lots of cameras and sensors so I was happy to get it done as fast as possible and get into the season. I was very assured the whole time. Kuhnemann says that he bowled many balls during his career and there was no such doubt that whoever,” Kuhnemann added.
Kuhnemann, who spoke to the media, says that for the first time since the incident, I was always confident about my action would be given the green light. So much that, Kuhnemann used the Ten days time which is taken by ICC to analyse action to spend some time on the Gold Coast. He also says that "It was actually great to have time with my family," and "these ten days weren't as stressful as it was for many people. "It was definitely shocking for Kuhnemann when the Controversy happened there. But after that he says that it was very grateful for the support that Cricket Australia and Cricket Tasmania provided to me.
During the action analysis, the amount of elbow extension for all of Kuhnemann’s deliveries was met with the criteria of to be within the 15-degree level of tolerance, and Kuhnemann was permitted under the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations. Hence, Kuhnemann was cleared to continue bowling in international cricket. Regardless of being reported for Kuhnemann's bowling action, he starred in Australia’s 2-0 Test series win vs Sri Lanka, and he took 16 wickets,which makes him the highest wicket-taker at an average of 17.18 from four innings. And at last Kuhnemann also says that "The Test series that I played in Sri Lanka was probably one of my best career times with the ball.''
