MI started up with really good intent. Former skipper Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeper batter Ryan Rickelton put up 33 runs in 16 balls and the 17th got Rohit's wicket. Rickelton and Jacks then took care of the powerplay. Ryan hammered 58 off just 32 balls, giving MI the upper hand in the first half of the innings.
Surya Kumar Yadav played a vital knock of 54 with a strike rate of over 190 in the middle overs, laying a base for the strong finish. Naman Dhir and Corbin Bosch played crucial cameos and pushed Mumbai Indians past 200.
Super Giants had 216 to chase, and what they needed was a power-packed start. Bumrah got the new ball and he made it worth with the wicket of in-form Aiden Markram. Pooran finally got some runs in the powerplay when he smashed Deepak Chahar for three consecutive sixes.
Skipper Pant again fell for just four runs. Badoni and Miller played crucial knocks in the middle, but the Boult-Bumrah duo got rid of them too before they could do the damage. Bumrah bowled the 16th over and clubbed three wickets from it, and it was the game for the Mumbai Indians.
Bishnoi showed resistance, but what could he have done when the asking rate was over 22? Mumbai Indians eventually won the game and won it by a big margin of 54 runs.
