Pakistan National Cricket Team skipper Mohammad Rizwan has come under the firing line. This is because the ODI captain of the team didn't agree to play in the National T20 Cup, which is organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Mohammad Rizwan has been playing in a local club league instead of the National T20 Cup. The keeper-batter has been working on his range hitting in the local league. This comes after he was dropped from the Pakistan squad from the shortest format of the game.

Mohammad Rizwan, who was announced as the white-ball captain of the team, was sacked as a skipper in the T20I. The PCB decided to move on from senior players and has handed the opportunity to young players in the ongoing series against New Zealand.

As he missed the National T20 Cup, former Pakistan player, Sikander Bakht didn't go easy on Mohammad Rizwan. He openly attacked the ODI captain of the team, saying that he was an employee of Pakistan and should play in all the competitions of PCB.

They get 60 lakh per month, so they must play in the tournaments the PCB is organising - Sikander Bakht on Mohammad Rizwan

Sikander Bakht pointed out that Mohammad Rizwan is getting a salary of 60 lakh and by not playing in the tournament, he is insulting PCB. He also urged PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to take strict action, urging him to cancel the contracts of the players. Speaking to Geo News, he said:

"They are employees of the Pakistan Cricket Board. They get 60 lakh per month, so they must play in the tournaments the PCB is organising. The buck stops with PCB. They have to make sure that players are available. If you are playing club cricket and not playing the tournament the board has organised, it means you are insulting the PCB."

"This shouldn't happen. Mohsin Naqvi needs to be strict. He comes off as a polite person, but he needs to change his ways. You have to ask what is happening. Be strict. Stop their central contracts."

While he was dropped from the T20I side, Mohammad Rizwan was retained as the captain of the ODIs. The batter didn't have a great time as a skipper in the ICC Champions 2025 but would be keen to make a strong comeback in the ODIs against Pakistan.
