The young Indian pacer reveals his mother said, “to stay back and complete your father’s wish to play for India.” Mohammed Siraj lost his father on Friday after the 53 years old lost his life due to a lung ailment in Hyderabad.

Mohammed Siraj is currently with Team India in Australia for the long grueling season with the Kangaroos. The Board of Control for Cricket in India gave the pacer an option to return home for the last rites but he chooses to stay with the team and perform to accomplish his late father’s dream.

My Father wanted me to represent India:

It is a very big loss for me, my father always supported me. It was his dream that I keep on playing for India and make the country proud. I just want to fulfill my father’s dream and that is why I keep on thinking that my father will always be there with me,” Siraj told BCCI.TV.

My mother told me to stay with the team in Australia and perform well. Everyone has to go one day. Today is your dad, some other day it will be me. You just need to focus on what your dad wanted you to do.

The RCB pacer comes from a humble background and his father supported him with every possible resource.

Virat’s Advice to stay Strong:

Siraj also disclosed how India’s skipper Virat’s advice pushed him to stay strong.

Virat told me not to get tensed and to be strong in hard times. Your father wanted you to play for India, focus on that,” Siraj on BCCI.TV.

I lost my support system. It is a very huge loss for me and my family. He wanted me to shine and play cricket for India, I am now focused to fulfill his dream.

Siraj will be with the team for the upcoming Australian season which starts on November 27. The pacer is part of the Test series between India and Australia which will start from 17 December. This will be the debut season for the youngster in Tests.

Siraj had a good thirteenth season of IPL with Royal Challenger Bangalore. The young pacer played 9 games and managed 11 scalps under his belt with an economy of 8.68. Although he did not play the full season due to team combinations, he provided enough strength to the bowling unit and picked crucial wickets under pressure.
