Mumbai Indians (MI) Playing11 in IPL 2022, Complete Squad and Player List: Multiple times IPL winner, Mumbai Indians (MI) had a bit of on and off IPL auction 2022. MI kept its cards shut until the final session of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. If I go with the expert’s analysis, Mumbai Indians had the worst ever IPL auction in 2022. They tried to get most of their previous players but backed out of the bidding war at the very last moment and as a result, the likes of Quinton de Kock, Trent Boult, Rahul Chahar are now with other IPL teams.
MI fans had to wait for the long one and a half days to see the actual strategy of their favourite franchise. The five times IPL winner, saved half of their purse value to get the services of young Ishan Kishan (INR 15.25 Crores) and English paceman Jofra Archer (INR 8 Crores).
After getting these two players on board, Mumbai decided to fill up their entire squad around the core formed by the four retained players. Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard form the core of MI for the IPL 2022.
The franchise in blue and gold bought 25 players, including the four retained, and almost exhausted the entire purse value. Tim David, Jofra Archer, Dewald Brevis, Tymal Mills, Riley Meredith are a few of their top overseas buys in the IPL 2022.

Mumbai Indians (MI) Playing11 in IPL 2022:
The 2020 IPL champions, Mumbai Indians have shelled out INR 15.25 Crores for the services of young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Kishan will be paired alongside skipper Rohit Sharma in the opening combination. Rohit and Ishan have been already tested during the IPL 2021 and both of them, at times, open for India as well. Ishan Kishan will also be the glovesman for the Mumbai Indians.
Suryakumar Yadav will be in the third position. It will be crucial for Mumbai to give ample opportunities for Suryakumar Yadav to settle in and then open his fire. Yadav knows his role in Mumbai Indians and will be a key player for the franchise.

Tilak Verma will follow Suryakumar Yadav in the batting order. He is a fine striker of the ball and can score runs at a brisk pace. If Verma can prove his worth by scoring runs, he can be a part of Mumbai’s long term vision. Tilak Verma is young and can be groomed well for the future.
The Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollard will be at number 5. Pollard is known for his sheer power hitting and can also be used as a bowler. Overseas Tim David will be Mumbai’s number 6 cricketer. Though David is relatively new to the IPL, he has plied his trade in a number of foreign T20 tournaments. David can fill up the void created by the release of Hardik Pandya.
Mumbai’s middle-order will rely largely on the services of Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams. The all-rounder can tonk the deliveries out of the park and can also be useful as the proper bowler. Rohit Sharma can use Daniel Sams and Kieron Pollard as two of his sixth bowling options who can bowl a couple of overs here and there.
MI have parted ways with all-rounder Krunal Pandya ahead of season fifteen of the IPL. In Krunal’s absence, Mumbai would require a player like Sanjay Yadav to take up the opportunity and prove his value.
Mumbai’s bowling unit will include England’s Tymal Mills, either of spinners Murugan Ashwin or Mayank Markande and Jasprit Bumrah.
Despite roping in Jofra Archer, the five-times IPL winners won’t be able to get his services in the IPL 2022. Archer is unavailable for the upcoming season of the IPL due to his injuries and Mumbai will have to manage without his presence.
Spinner Mayank Markande has played for MI in the past and is likely to get a nod ahead of Murugan Ashwin. However, it all depends upon the franchise and what are their requirement. Hence there will be a tossup between Ashwin and Markande.
Tymal Mills try to take the shoes of Kiwi pacer Trent Boult. Mills will bowl in the initial overs and try to provide breakthroughs. To finish off, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will be used in vivid situations by Mumbai.
