Mumbai Indians (MI) signs three years deal with Slice for team’s principal sponsor.

Tata IPL 2022: The five times IPL champion, Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed an official deal with credit card challenger, Slice, to become MI’s principal sponsor until the year 2024. Mumbai Indians (MI) informed the development via a series of tweets on 21st January.

Mumbai Indians (MI) top three retentions, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav welcomed the credit card company as the principal sponsor of the team in a three years deal.

As per the three years deal with Mumbai Indians (MI), Slice’s branding will be displayed at the front of Mumbai’s jersey.

“Hoping for a long and fruitful partnership”, said Rohit Sharma while speaking in a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their official Twitter handle.

Rajan Bajaj shared his views on the partnership between the two. He reckons that there is no correlation between cricket and a financial product, however, there are a lot of similarities between the two.

“Being the most successful team in the IPL with 5 titles to its name, Mumbai Indians inspires not only millions of its fans, but also entrepreneurs like me with the team’s passion, focus, and persistent spirit. It’s the shared hunger for winning and excellence that brings us together,” said Rajan Bajaj, Founder-CEO, slice as quoted by MI’s official website.

“With cricket being at the heart of Indian culture, we will together bring more excitement to this vibrant culture as well as take it to all the cricket lovers around the world”, he added.

Mumbai Indians (MI) didn’t have a fruitful last season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). the star-studded side couldn’t find its mojo playing in the UAE in 2021 and hence failed to breach the playoffs mark. 

The multiple times IPL winner could only manage to win seven games from 14 matches and was placed at number 5.

Ahead of the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai has retained the likes of Rohit Sharma (INR 16 Crores), Jasprit Bumrah (INR 12 Crores), Suryakumar Yadav (INR 8 Crores) and Kieron Pollard (INR 6 Crores).
