Vivo IPL 2021: Mustafizur Rahman granted NOC by Bangladesh Cricket Board to play IPL 2021.

Vivo IPL 2021: Bangladeshi premier pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for participation in the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals have picked up the pacer in his base price of INR 1 Crores in the recent IPL 2021 Auctions in Chennai.

The development was confirmed by BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin. He said it is best suited for Mustafizur to play the elite competition in India from the start as he is not named in the two test games against Sri Lanka, starting next month.

“We have given him NOC for IPL as he is not in our Test plans for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka,” said Minhajul on Saturday. “It’s better if he plays there and gains some experience.”

BCB earlier gave a NOC to star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to play the fourteenth season of IPL leaving behind the two games test series against Sri Lanka. Shakib later clarified that BCB has misinterpreted his decision to which the cricket board responded sharply.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board after Shakib’s statement has decided to reconsider the NOC granted to an all-rounder.

Mustafizur Rahman learning about the rift said he is ready to skip the IPL 2021 if he was named in the squad for two test games against Sri Lanka.

“My first priority is to play for my country and if I am picked in the Test series against Sri Lanka, I will naturally play. If I am not picked then BCB will tell me that I am not included. At that point, if I am given NOC to play in the IPL then I will play but patriotism comes first for me,” said Mustafizur regarding his IPL plan.

As of now, BCB has decided to allow Shakib to take the part in IPL 2021 at the expense of national duty and is deliberating on the decision not to force anyone to play for the country.
