India captain Rohit Sharma didn’t look in greatest of touch in the ongoing fourth Test of the series against England. The penultimate game of the five-match series between the teams is taking place at the Jharkhand Cricket Ground in Ranchi. 

England won the toss and opted to bat first. Based on the solid century from Joe Root (122*) and a half-century from Ollie Robinson (58) guided them to a decent total after being at 112/5. The visitors ended their innings with 353 runs. 

It was expected that Indian openers would give their team a great start. But it wasn’t meant to be as skipper Rohit Sharma bagged another low failure in the series. The captain slammed a blistering ton in the last game and was expected to continue his form. 

However,  Rohit Sharma looked extremely tentative at the crease right from the start. The batter looked shaky and his feet were not moving at all, which saw James Anderson removing him yet again in the history of Test cricket.

James Anderson bowled a pitched-up delivery that held its line outside of. Rohit didn’t move his feet as he tried to push the ball forward. The ball caught the outside edge of the bat and was caught by Ben Foakes behind the stumps with ease. 

Rohit Sharma scored just 2 runs off 14 balls in the first innings. Apart from the century in Ranchi, the Indian captain has failed to make a mark in the series. His scores read: 24, 39, 14, 13, 131, 19, and 2. He now would be hoping to turn the tables around in the last three innings. The Indian captain would be under pressure now. He himself would want to play a big innings in the second essay of the game.
