India captain Rohit Sharma finally returned to form after a lean patch. The opening batter played a magnificent innings in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series England, which took place at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday (9th February).

Rohit Sharma, who was under serious scanner, slammed a magnificent century in the second ODI and helped his team win the game. The senior opener batted with an aggressive mindset right from the start as he took England bowlers to the cleaners and put them under pressure.

With the kind of performance that he displayed, it didn't look like he was out of form. The India captain played magnificent shots in his innings as he took his team off to a flying start with the bat in the chase of 305 runs. He put England bowlers under pressure which allowed other Indian batters to settle as well.

Rohit Sharma slammed his 32nd ODI ton and is now third in the list of most number of tons in the format, only behind Sachin Tendulkar, who has 49 centuries, and Virat Kohli, who has 50 centuries. What has been amazing his he has hit his peak after turning 30 years old.

With his century in the second ODI against England, Rohit Sharma became the oldest Indian captain to hit a century in a 50-over format. He also has the record of being the old India skipper to slam centuries in T20Is as well.

Rohit Sharma, in the second ODI against England, played an innings 119 runs off 90 balls. Throughout his innings, he batted with a strike rate of over 100 and ended with 132, slamming 12 fours and 7 sixes that helped India win the game by 4 wickets and take an unassailable lead of 2-0.

With Rohit Sharma returning to form, it will be a massive boost for India ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The batter would be keen to carry on the same form and help his team win the last ODI against England as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
