PAK vs BAN: Pakistan and Bangladesh will face off in their final group-stage match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Rawalpindi. With both teams already out of contention for the knockout stages, this match is all about ending the tournament on a high note.

Both teams would be excited for the contest, though rain looms as a threat, and both sides will be hoping for clear skies to give their fans something to cheer about.

Squads and Playing XIs

Both teams may experiment with their lineups, giving opportunities to bench players. Pakistan could bring in Kamran Ghulam, Faheem Ashraf, or Mohammad Hasnain, while Bangladesh may stick with their previous eleven.

Probable Playing 11s

Pakistan: Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Usman Khan, Mohammad Rizwan (c & wk), Salman Agha, Faheem Ashraf, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed.

Bangladesh: Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, Mustafizur Rahman.

Head-to-Head Stats

Pakistan has dominated Bangladesh in ODIs at home, winning all 12 encounters. However, this will be the first time they face off in a Champions Trophy match. Bangladesh’s struggles against top teams in this tournament mirror Pakistan’s, with both sides failing to post competitive totals in their previous games.

Matches played(ODI)- 39
PAK Won- 35
BAN won- 5

Key Player Battles

One of the most interesting contests will be between Pakistan’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed and Bangladesh’s emerging middle-order batter Jaker Ali. Abrar has been among Pakistan’s few positives in the tournament, while Jaker has shown a strong ability to finish innings.

Another high-stakes competition will be between Mohammad Rizwan and pace sensation Nahid Rana. Rizwan loves the pace, but Rana would not be an easy bowler to face, and it would be an interesting battle to watch.

Additionally, the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah, possibly playing their last ICC event, will be up against Pakistan’s pace attack. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf will look to bounce back after disappointing outings, but Bangladesh’s top-order struggles might give them a chance to regain form.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium Pitch Report

Rawalpindi has seen a lot of rain recently, with the previous match between South Africa and Australia being abandoned. If the play goes ahead, the moisture under the covers could aid seam movement early on, making batting tricky. Spinners may also play a crucial role as the match progresses.

While there is nothing at stake in terms of qualification, both teams will aim for a strong finish, making this an exciting contest despite the circumstances.
