Pakistan face a HUGE Blow! Fakhar Zaman ruled out of India clash in 2025 ICC Champions Trophy
Pakistan National Cricket Team has suffered a massive blow ahead of the India clash in the ongoing 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. As per the reports in RevSportz, it is learned that Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the next game against the arch-rivals.
Fakhar Zaman got injured during the first game of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy against New Zealand. The Pakistan National Cricket Team batter suffered a knee injury on the second ball of the match, which took place at the National Stadium in Karachi on Wednesday (19th February).
Fakhar Zaman put in a sprint to chase the ball in an attempt to save the boundary. However, he felt discomfort in his knee and looked in pain. The batter then walked off the field and returned during the last phase of the innings, but he didn't look in good shape.

Fakhar Zaman then was slated to open the innings but wasn't allowed to do that due to the lack of time on the crease. He walked out to bat at No.4 but was visibly struggling to get going due to the knee injury that he had. He wasn't able to run or big shots.
Fakhar Zaman was ultimately back in the hut after scoring 24 runs off 41 balls as Pakistan National Cricket Team went on to lose the match. The batter slammed four boundaries in his innings but wasn't at his fluent best as we have seen him play over the years.
His absence from the game against India will be a massive jolt for the Pakistan National Cricket Team. The game will be do or die for the Mohammad Rizwan-led side. If they lose the game, they will be almost eliminated from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
Fakhar Zaman would've proved to be the vital cog in the wheel for Pakistan National Cricket in the match against India. The batter has a great record against the Men in Blue and his absence will leave a massive void in the team.
So far, as per the reports, Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out only for the India game in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. This means that the Pakistan National Cricket Team is unlikely to name any replacement and wait for the batter to get fit completely.
