PBSK vs SRH 2025: What has just happened! Sunrisers Hyderabad Chased down 246 runs under 18.3 overs against Punjab Kings at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. This has been the highest successful run chase of the season and the second-highest chase in the history of IPL!
Abhishek Sharma's lightning-fast 144 and Travis Head's exceptional knock of 66 runs helped SRH to chase down 246 with ease. Before that, Harshal Patel somewhat restricted the runs with his four-fer. Nevertheless, it was Hyderabad's day and this is the kind of game you expect for a team like SRH.
PBKS vs SRH Match Highlights
Toss and Playing11s: It is the home of Sunrisers Hyderabad but they were the ones not happy with the pitches of Hyderabad. This time, however, the curators produced a pure flat surface with no help for the bowlers. It was going to be a run-fest and lucky Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bat first.

Punjab Kings Putting Up Big Total
Punjab's openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran stood up with the Captian's call to bat first. They racked up 66 runs in the first four overs before losing Arya. Shreyas Iyer followed and kept the acceleration on and Punjab put up 89 runs in the batting powerplay.
Eshan Malinga, the Sri Lankan right-arm medium-fast, removed Prabhsimran and his wicket drew the scoring rate a bit down. However, Shreyas Iyer kept the scoreboard up all that time with a blistering knock of 84 runs off just 36 balls.
Iyer's wicket in the 18 overs at 206 team score indicated Punjab would end their innings around 220-30 but Marcus Stoinis joined the party with a cameo of 34 runs in the last 11 balls. Punjab Kings put forth 245 runs and it was above par score for any surface.
Sunrisers Hyderabad's Remarkable Chase
Not many teams in the World T20 Leagues have openers like the duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, and today, it was all their show. It all started with Travis Head scoring 9 runs in the first over, Abhishek Sharma, from the other end, smacked 19 runs in the second over and it was him stealing the show then.
They put up 83 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket and Travis Head hadn't got much strike. No bowler was able to even restrict the runflow and Sunrisers were marching to the target. Yash Thakur got a chance and trapped Abhishek Sharma in the powerplay but it was a NO BALL. Abhishek Sharma used this lifeline to his full potential and smoked an amazing 100* off just 40 balls. He dedicated this century to "the orange Army".
Chahal got Travis Head at 66 and Arshdeep Singh removed Abhishek Sharma at 144 but it was too late to ask anything as Ishan Kishan and Henrich Klaasen were in a hurry to end the losing streak. Klaasen ended up things in style with a four and they had 9 balls to spear in the chase of 246.
