Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap in IPL 2022 – Updated List April 10: Faf du Plessis led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) thumped disarrayed Mumbai Indians, last night, in the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) International Stadium, Pune. Mumbai’s losing streak continued as they never looked comfortable throughout the game and eventually lost it by seven wickets.
The Blue and Gold army once again found it hard to get going in all its three departments. Outing with the bat was extremely disappointing for the Mumbai Indians, and so was the bowling.
Despite getting a brisk start in the powerplays, Mumbai eventually lost four wickets in quick succession and were reduced to 62/4. Middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav did some rescue work to at least give his bowlers a respectable total to defend.
Yadav played a 37-balls 68 runs unbeaten knock and took Mumbai to a total of 151 in the loss of six wickets.
In pursuit of a modest total, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opened with extra caution. The openers only scored 30 runs in the powerplay overs, but they soon began to take on the bowlers as they settled down.
Opener Anuj Rawat played a match-winning knock of 66 runs from 47 balls while Virat Kohli registered 36 balls 48 before getting dismissed.
Glenn Maxwell, eventually, took RCB over the rope with his back to back fours and sealed the game with seven wickets to spare.
