In the afternoon match, Delhi Capitals (DC) did extremely well to return to the winning ways, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 44 runs, while in the evening, Rajasthan Royals (RR) successfully thrashed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to reclaim the top position in the points table.
During the afternoon fixture, Delhi Capitals (DC) amassed massive runs and put up 215 runs total for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after being asked to bat first. Prithvi Shaw, as usual, was highly impressive as he scored a quickfire 51 from 29 balls. David Warner also traced back his lost form and scored 61 off 45 deliveries. To finish things off on a high, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur exploited the slog overs and took DC to a mammoth total of 215 runs.
Kolkata Knight Riders couldn’t get an ideal start as the openers were dismissed pretty early. The players couldn’t stitch any fruitful partnership in between and as a result, lost the match. KKR could only manage to score 171 runs in pursuit of 215 runs total and lost the game by 44 runs.
During the second fixture between RR and LSG, Rajasthan Royals were simply outstanding with their execution. The pink army put up 165 runs total on the board following match-winning efforts from Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 59 runs off 36 balls.
In response to a modest total, Lucknow Super Giants lost two of its most crucial wickets in the first over itself. Trent Boult got rid of KL Rahul and Krishnappa Gowtham in just two balls and forced the opposition into the backfoot.

The Orange Cap remains in the hands of Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter, Jos Buttler. However, the batter couldn’t extend his run lead by a fair margin after he was dismissed cheaply by Avesh Khan.
Quinton de Kock has surpassed the likes of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan to gain the second position with 188 runs. Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer has also entered into top five owing to his sensational hitting.
Purple Cap IPL 2022:
Rajasthan Royals experienced leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has crossed Umesh Yadav to get hold of the Purple Cap. Chahal picked four wickets in the match against Lucknow Super Giants, which helped him climb to the 1st position.
Umesh Yadav slips down to number two with 10 wickets in five matches. He is followed by Delhi Capitals’ Kuldeep Yadav with as many wickets and Wanindu Hasaranga with eight scalps.
