Prasidh Krishna gets ruled out of series against New Zealand A due to an Injury

In the most unfortunate news of the day, Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna will be unable to take part in any of the matches of the currently ongoing 4-day test series between India A and New Zealand A due to an alleged injury (back spasm).

He was unable to feature in the first test between the two sides that is currently going on at Bengaluru. When it began on Thursday, Prasidh Krishna did not get the clearance to play and upon further checkups, it turned out that his injury is too serious to be taken lightly and thus he has been ruled out of the entire series altogether.

Prasidh Krishna has been one of the key parts of team India’s shorter format squads in the last few years but he has been unable to find a spot in our test team. He thus still plays in the India A test side and this series against New Zealand was a perfect opportunity for him to prove his mettle in the longest format of the game as well. It is thus indeed very unfortunate that he missed it. Fans were eager to find out how the youngster fairs in test cricket.

Talking about the ongoing Test match between India A and New Zealand A, the first day was completed just a short while earlier. New Zealand are currently on 156/6 after day 1. Joe Carter, who is still batting, has made 73 runs and has been the main threat for Team India so far in the first innings.

Among the Indian bowlers, Mukesh Kumar has been the most effective. He picked up 3 wickets. Abhimanyu Easwaran, Srikar Bharat, Kuldeep Yadav, Priyank Panchal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan and Rajat Patidar are some of the big names that are playing for India A in this match.
