Prithvi Shaw was all set to be picked by LSG but this coach acted as a villain
In the latest development, as per the reports in Cricblogger, it is learned that Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw was all set to get an IPL contract. The batter was near to be part of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) but head coach Justin Langer changed his mind last minute.
Prithvi Shaw was one of the big names that unsold in IPL 2025. The right-hander kept a base price of ₹75 lakh, and it was certain that he would find bidders. But that wasn't the case as none of the ten franchises raised paddles for him, so he went unsold.
Prithvi Shaw was available for LSG as they had decided to bid for him in their early plans. But the plan didn't go their way as the franchise picked INR 4 crore for Ayush Badoni. This was because head coach Justin Langer changed his decision to acquire Shaw at the last minute.

The source close to the developments confirmed the same, saying that Prithvi Shaw was almost in the plans, but Justin Langer changed his plan. Speaking to Cricblogger, he said:
"Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw was nearly picked up by the Lucknow Super Giants, but head coach Justin Langer had a last-minute change of heart which saw the deal fall through."
Prithvi Shaw has been one of the finest batters in the IPL. He made his debut for Delhi Capitals in the league in 2018. The batter played 79 games in the tournament, slamming 1,892 runs at an average of 23.94 with a strike rate of 147.46, including 14 half-centuries.
Prithvi Shaw has been facing a massive decline in cricket. He has been dropped from the domestic team as well. It remains to be seen if he will play domestic cricket this year or not.
