PSL 2025: Karachi Kings sacks Shan Masood, names David Warner as the new captain
Karachi Kings has made a massive change to their team ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. The franchise has sacked Shan Masood as the leader and has appointed David Warner as the new captain of the team for the upcoming edition.
The development comes after David Warner was picked by the franchise recently in drafts. The batter will be playing a key role for the franchise and with the kind of experience that he has, it will be a massive boost for the Karachi Kings going into PSL 2025.
David Warner registered himself for the PSL 2025 drafts after he went unsold in the IPL auction. Him going contract less in the Indian league came as a massive surprise as he has been a stalwart in the league over the years, leading the charts of runs for overseas batters in the league.
David Warner now would be keen to make a massive impact for the Karachi Kings in the PSL. He also also captain of Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League and took his team to the final. He led from the front but failed to win the summit clash against Hobart Hurricanes.
David Warner also featured for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 2025. He helped the franchise win the title as he looked in decent touch with the bat. He would be keen to carry on the same form in PSL and add another feather to his glorious career.
David Warner will be replacing Shan Masood as the captain of the team. The Test captain of the Pakistan National Cricket Team has been leading the franchise for the last few years but couldn't bring glory, and hence, he was sacked.
