Vivo IPL 2021: Punjab Kings (PBKS) ropes in Adil Rashid for the Vivo IPL 2021.

Vivo IPL 2021: KL Rahul led Punjab Kings (PBKS) have roped in English leg spinner Adil Rashid for the remainder of the Vivo IPL 2021. The leggie comes into the squad as a replacement for Australian pacer Jhye Richardson who earlier pulled out citing personal reasons.

It is noteworthy that Rashid emerged as the joint highest wicket-taker in the inaugural season of the ‘The Hundred.’ He scalped 12 wickets for his franchise Northern Superchargers.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) earlier announced the addition of Nathan Ellis as a replacement and the acquisition of English leggie Adil Rashid fills their overseas quota. The team now has all eight overseas slots completely filled.

Currently, Rashid is ranked third in the ICC T20I bowlers ranking. The spinner has 65 wickets in 62 T20I games for England at an economy of 7.48. The bowler has taken 232 overall wickets in his T20 career.

He will join two other Englishmen in Punjab’s setup. Dawid Malan and Chris Jordon were picked by the franchise in the IPL 2021 auctions.

It will be interesting to see Adil Rashid pair up with Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi in the remaining 31 matches of the IPL 2021.

As of now, PBKS is ranked sixth in the 2021 IPL points table with three wins in eight matches. The team will begin its UAE campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Dubai International Stadium on 21st September.
