Punjab Kings skipper Mayank Agarwal has also sent a strong statement to the critics by plundering a massive century in the ongoing Maharaja Trophy. He scored 112 runs off 61 deliveries for his team, Bangalore Blasters.
Notably, PBKS appointed Mayank Agarwal as the leader of the group in the Tata IPL 2022, after then skipper KL Rahul decided to part ways with the team. Agarwal led his troops quite decently at the starting, however, things began deteriorating as the business end of the tournament approached. Punjab once again failed to qualify for the playoffs, even though they performed superbly at the start of the tournament.
