Punjab Kings Star Backs Prithvi Shaw as India’s Next Great Opener

Shashank Singh, the designated uncapped Punjab Kings finisher believes that if Prithvi Shaw can make a few changes, then he will be the best for his cricket. Someone asked Shashank who would predict India's next great openers. Shashank says he would definitely go with Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shaw as contenders. Shaw was already known as Shashank since when Shaw was 13 years old.

Shashank says that Prithvi Shaw is underrated and if he fixes his basics, he can do anything. I have known him since Shaw was a 13-year-old kid, We both have played club cricket together for Bombay. and also do practice sessions during that time, we grow together and played many matches. Prithvi Shaw is one of the players and if he fixes some of the things in himself then no one will stop shaw from becoming a top player like Virat Kohli. If you ask me what's wrong going with him I must say that Shaw has some sort of different perspectives of these things" Shashank said, speaking on the Shubhankar Mishra podcast.

Shashank also says "Maybe, Shaw needs to change something about his work ethic, maybe sleep at 10 PM instead of 11 PM, maybe improve his diet and do a proper practice session, do more focus on her daily routine like other players do that will help him a lot. "If Shaw can change some sort of these problems, it would be another level best thing for Indian cricket."

Prithvi Shaw got unsold in the PL auction despite of his base price of 75 lakh after getting released from Delhi Capitals. Shashank says that Shaw must follow some sort of good advice. "Maybe he is already in the mode of change. And I think he does not need me to advise him. He probably has nearly 10 better people to have advice for," Shashank added.

Shashank was retained by the Punjab Kings franchise. Shashank was retained for Rs 5.5 crore. Shashank was one of the top run scorers of his team in the season. With 354 runs from 14 innings at an average of 44.25, Shashank also hits two fifties. Where his strike rate was 164.65.
