The 18th match of IPL 2025 was played today between Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and invited the visiting team Rajasthan Royals, to bat first. Batting first, Riyan Parag and company scored 205 runs at the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
For Rajasthan, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal played an innings of 67 runs with the help of three fours and five sixes. Captain Samson also played an innings of 38 runs in 26 balls. In the last over, Riyan Parag did the finishing work for Rajasthan. He played an innings of 43 runs not out with the help of three fours and three sixes in just 25 balls, while Dhruv Jurel scored 13 runs in five balls to take Rajasthan's scorecard beyond 200 runs.
Chasing the target of 206 runs, the Punjab Kings could only score 155 runs in 20 overs. The reason for Punjab's defeat was the performance of their top-order batsmen. Opener Priyansh Arya got out on the very first ball of Jofra Archer. Prabhsimran Singh got out after scoring 17 runs, and captain Shreyas Iyer got out after scoring 10 runs.
In the middle order, Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell kept the scoreboard moving but were unable to bring victory. Wadhera scored 62 runs in 41 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes, while Maxwell scored 30 runs but was unable to bring victory to the team.
