Ravi Shastri recalled the time when he scolded MS Dhoni for playing Football: Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri has recalled an incident involving former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni that made him furious and enraged. Shastri in his conversation with Star Sports before yesterday’s afternoon fixture between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad revealed that he once yelled at MS Dhoni for playing football.

Everyone is well aware of the fact that MS Dhoni loves to Play Football in his leisure time. Often the cricketer is seen juggling with the football during the training sessions as a warm-up routine. Besides him doing his warm-up sessions with Football, MS Dhoni is also seen involved in charity football matches with his Bollywood celebrity friends.

Ravi Shastri admitted the same but recalled one incident that made him furious over MS Dhoni. The former coach said that the incident dates back to the Asia Cup final against Pakistan. Right five minutes before the toss, Dhoni was seen playing football which didn’t go well with the then coach Ravi Shastri.

“He loves it. And the intensity, you know, with which he plays, it scares you from the outside. You feel hope he doesn’t get injured. I remember in Asia Cup final, there was dew and went skidding five minutes before toss. I have never yelled like that in my life. ‘Stop the game!’ I said something like that. You don’t want to lose your main player in a game against Pakistan. But to get him out and leave the football that is impossible,” he said.
