Vivo IPL 2021: RCB bags fourth consecutive win, defeats Rajasthan Royals by 10 wickets.

Vivo IPL 2021: Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continues the winning run in the Indian T20 tournament as they defeat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 10 wickets at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Chasing the below-par total of 177 runs at Wankhede Stadium, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal remained unbeaten taking their side over the winning line in just 16.3 overs. Virat Kohli playing the second fiddle to Devdutt Padikkal scored unbeaten 72 from 47 deliveries which includes six boundaries and three sixes.

On the other side, Southpaw Devdutt Padikkal enjoyed the surface and the bounce on offer as he smacked his maiden IPL ton. The 20-years old cricketer amassed unbeaten 101 from 52 deliveries with the help of 11 boundaries and six towering sixes.

With the win, RCB once again topped the points table with 8 points and a net run rate of +1.000.

Forced to bat first after losing the toss, Rajasthan Royals (RR) opening woes continued as opener Jos Buttler (8 runs from 8 balls) and Manan Vohra (7 runs off 9) were sent back cheaply by Kyle Jamieson and Mohammad Siraj.

RR skipper Sanju Samson (21 from 18) looked in good touch but was sent back by Washington Sundar in the second delivery after hitting him for a good six.

All-rounder Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag brought back Royals in the game after getting reduced to 43-4 in 8 overs.

Riyan Parag playing smartly scored 25 off 16 balls with four boundaries while Shivam Dube fell four short of his half century. He scored 32 balls 46 with five fours and two sixes.

All rounder Rahul Tewatia scored a quickfire 40 from 23 deliveries with four boundaries and two sixes to put a respectable total on the board. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers restricted Rajasthan Royals (RR) to 177 runs in the loss of nine wickets in the quota of 20 overs.

Speedster Mohammad Siraj and Harshal Patel picked three scalps apiece while Kyle Jamieson, Kane Richardson and Washington Sundar got one-one each.

For his brilliant piece of batting, Southpaw Devdutt Padikkal was given the “Man of the Match” award.
