RCB in Trouble! WPL Points Table 2025 After GG beat RCB by 6 Wickets | Check Who has Orange Cap & Purple Cap

RCB vs GG: The home team Royal Challengers Bengaluru has suffered a clean sweep on their backyard by Mumbai Indians, UP Warriorz and now Gujarat Giants! Gujarat Giants have defeated Smriti Mandhana's RCB by 6 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

The player of the match and skipper of the Gujarat Giants, Ash Gardner, took her team to the win with the bat, where batting wasn't that easy. The wicket wasn't as good for batting, but Gardner's flawless 58 runs, fueled by the late attack by Phoebe Litchfield, led Gujarat to their second win in the tournament

Let's take a look at the match summary and WPL stats updated after the RCB vs GG match:

RCB vs GG Match Highlights

In the most recent encounter between Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Giants, the latter won the toss and bowled first. Asked to bat first, RCB had no answer against the mature and disciplined bowling lineup of the Gujarat Giants. In the very first over, Dottin dismissed Wyatt-Hodge. In the next over, Perry fell for a duck, dealing another early blow. Captain Smriti Mandhana struggled to find her rhythm and was eventually caught in the deep, leaving RCB at 25/3 inside the powerplay.

Raghvi Bist and Kanika Ahuja then steadied the innings with a 48-run stand. However, their resistance was broken when both batters fell in quick succession. Priya Mishra had one expensive over, conceding 18 runs, but GG maintained control with tight bowling.

Gardner rotated her bowlers effectively, restricting RCB’s scoring. In the final four overs, RCB managed just one boundary, as GG executed their death-over plans brilliantly, keeping the total to 125.

The innings didn't start well for the Gujarat Giants, either! They lost their number 1, 2, and 3 for an aggregate of 33 runs, and even the below par score of 126 looked like a mountain to climb. Renuka got two important wickets in her spell of four overs at the top.

In the ninth over, Gardner shifted the momentum by attacking Prema Rawat, smashing 19 runs in that over. Though Deol lost her wicket soon after, Gardner kept the pressure on with her strong batting. She found solid support from Phoebe Litchfield, and their 51-run partnership sealed the game.

Gardner reached her third fifty of the season before getting out while trying to finish the match quickly, but by then, the result was already decided. Gujarat Giants comfortably chased the target, winning by 6 wickets in under 17 overs.

This win has helped them with two important points and improved their Net Run Rate in the Points table. However, they are still in the bottommost side of the table, but they are in a better condition now.

For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, this is their third loss in a row, and it has reduced their NRR by far. They are still the third-ranked team with a positive NRR. They will play DC on 1st March.
