Royal Challengers Bangalore arguably have one of the largest and most loyal fan bases in the nation. Even with the disappointment of 16 years, the graph of the fan base is consistently going up. The Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most loved teams in IPL history, and they will be looking to win their first trophy in the 2024 season.
During 2022’s Mega Auction, the RCB pulled up a top-notch squad. Their performance did reflect that, as they came in third place overall. However, despite having hope and a little better team on paper in 2023, RCB finished the season in disappointment, failing to qualify for the Playoffs and ending in 6th position in the IPL Points Table.

RCB Performance This Year (IPL 2023)
RCB squad got off to a good start with a convincing win over the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023. However, two losses in the next two games sapped the momentum. They won seven matches overall and lost the equal. The last match of the league stage of IPL 2023 was between RCB and GT. RCB Retention and Releases
It was an average season for a team like RCB. It is bizarre and quite heartbreaking that RCB despite once having stars like Universe Boss Chris Gayle, Mr. 360 AB de Villiers, and Dale Steyn have never won the IPL crown. The top order has always been the strength of the RCB, and this season was no exception. The middle order and flimsy bowling attack are the issues, unfortunately. Even after scoring more than 200 runs, RCB kept going to lose games.
We see a couple of drops going forward for the next season. Dinesh Karthik’s comeback was quite inspirational and mindblowing at the same time. He was the strength of the middle order and did an extraordinary job for RCB as a finisher. However, his contribution to the team this year was not up to the mark. The team management will surely be looking for a better option next year.
A longtime member of RCB and a batter from New Zealand, Finn Allen has yet to play in an IPL match. Since Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell possess the two foreign spots, the flamboyant batter is unable to make an appearance, and replacing Allen in the top order would pose a challenge for RCB management. As a result, RCB may see it wise to release him and sign a domestic bowler.
Lack of finishers and allrounders is a problem that RCB is going through and the management will be having an eye over it. With Virat, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, and Micheal Bracewell in the center, RCB will be looking for some more promising and proven stars.
Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2024 Squad
The top order of the RCB is rock-solid! Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis as openers and Glenn Maxwell at one down or two down. Bracewell didn’t get that much of chances but he is definitely a match-winner straight away. Down below is the squad of RCB for 2024:
