RCB pacer Harshal Patel injured, likely to be ruled out of SA series: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) premier pacer Harshal Patel has been injured during RCB’s recent match against Gujarat Titans. Patel suffered a split webbing on his bowling hand due to which he couldn’t complete his quota of 4 overs against GT, last night.
Harshal Patel could only deliver one over and left the field after suffering split webbing on Thursday. If the reports are to be believed, Patel is likely to be ruled out of the remainder of the Tata IPL 2022.
Moreover, the pacer is also doubtful for the T20I series against South Africa which will begin after the conclusion of the IPL 2022.
“We are in touch with RCB’s medical team. We should have an update in a day or two. He is certainly doubtful but not ruled out. We have some days left and depending on his recovery. we will take a call,” a member of the selection committee told.
Experts reckon a split webbing can take anywhere around three to five weeks to recover depending upon the number of stitches which makes Harshal Patel doubtful for the five matches T20I series against South Africa.
The right-arm pacer will head towards the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for his further rehabilitation in the coming few days.
