RCB to wear green jersey for, “Go Green” initiative, against SRH in IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be sporting a green jersey as a part of their “Go Green” initiative in the next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Wankhede Stadium on May 8th. The franchise announced the campaign across its social media handles on Saturday.

Playing an IPL game with a green jersey has been an indispensable part of RCB over the years, since its beginning in 2011. The franchise first adopted the cause back in 2011 playing their first-ever green match against, now defunct, Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

Through the campaign, RCB creates awareness for a cleaner and greener Earth for future generations. The environment that’s sustainable for the coming years.

“A finer kit you’ll never see, A finer team there’ll never be…Remember to reduce, reuse and recycle,” RCB’s tweet read as they announced the initiative for IPL 2022 game against SRH on Saturday.

On the bitter side, the green-coloured jersey hasn’t been a good friend of the RCB. Out of nine matches, RCB has only managed to win two while playing with the green jersey.

Notably, Bangalore dropped their go green campaign last year in the IPL 2021, however, the franchise donned a blue jersey to pay their respects to all the frontline workers who worked tirelessly amid the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.

RCB ready for revenge against SRH:

Faf du Plessis-led RCB and Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be meeting for the second time in the Tata IPL 2022 on Sunday. During their first meet, SRH brutally harassed RCB as the orange army wrapped RCB’s inning at a mere total of 68 runs which became RCB’s second-lowest total in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Both teams are looking to secure a berth in the playoffs of the IPL 2022. RCB is placed in the fourth position while SRH has slipped down to sixth following its three losses in a string.

Faf du Plessis and his army would be eager to take revenge for the defeat and humiliation they faced earlier against SRH. THe two sides will be up against each other in the Wankhede Stadium in the first match of the Sunday doubleheader.
